Robbie Taylor, born in Rotterdam as Robbie ’t Jong, has always been passionate about music and active in music from a very young age. He comes from a musical family and at the age of 6 he started taking music lessons. First soprano saxophone and at a later age alt saxophone.His continuing interest in radio and DJ’s inspired him to start collecting mixers, cd-players and turntables at the age of 9. When he was older he started his own radio show called ‘Pump this party’ along with four other local DJ’s. But when this show came to an end, Robbie still wanted to continue making radio programmes and he created a new show called “Pure house, music for the soul”. While he was busy with his radio programmes, he was also active in organizing various music events. Together with his friend and fellow DJ Dave (31/12/1981 – 16/07/2007) he developed the concept “Waterworld”, a houseparty which was located on a boat where different kinds of house where played. Other events created and organised by Robbie are “Funky Friday” and “KingsSquare Beatz”. He is still actively involved in planning and organizing houseparties.
