The hip hop world knows super groups too, though usually retroactively. Think NWA or Wu-Tang Clan. The masterfully swinging Flinke Namen also existed before rapperSef and dj The Flexican got individually known, but it took until this year before the quartet, also comprising of MC Fit and Murth, dropped its first real album, a smash hit. Live they're already much longer successful: Flinke Namen didn’t reach the finals of the Grote Prijs music contest of 2005 for nothing. Now they finally appear at Noorderslag too, where all and sundry will see and hear that the age gap between veteran Murth (also known as comedian and presenter) and the others doesn’t cause a generation gap but rather super stunt work!

Veron & Praia Del Sol ft Bizzey - Sleazy (Club and Bassjackers Remix)

Dutch DJ and producer Veron is considered one of the upcoming talents in the Dutch club scene. His dazzling productions have made crowds lose their minds in many clubs all over the Netherlands. In 2006 he decided to team up with dutch latin-house DJ / producer Praia del Sol. This collaboration resulted in the hit single Sleazy, which is soon to be released on Sneakerz MUZIK. Sleazy is a latin flavoured house track with a small electro twist. It was said to be the dutch summer hit of 2007, rocking almost every dance floor in the Neterlands. 

Right now Veron’s next track Brasileira is already taking over the scene, getting major support from DJ’s like Erick E, Roog, Sidney Samson, Ricky Rivaro, Jeroenski and Youri Donatz. It will be released with a bunch of great remixes. Besides producing, both Veron and Praia also gained DJ skills by rocking the crowds on several house events in the Netherlands throughout the last few years. Inspired by house legends like Daft Punk, Kenny Dope, Bob Sinclar but also The Swedish House Maffia, both their styles contain a wide variety of floor fillers fulfilling the needs of every crowd at anytime. Their latest releases are out on Sneakerz MUZIK, ZZAP Recordings, Chega Recording and last but not least Universal Music.

Bassjackers - Clifton (Sidney Samson Remix)

Bassjackers aka Marlon Flohr and Ralph van Hilst had not foreseen what was coming when they started out with their collaboration. Marlon was already Dj-ing for a while and Ralph experimented a lot with making different kinds of dance music. Marlon was mainly playing house music at the time and then the idea came to push Ralphs productions in that direction so that Marlon could play the tracks in his sets. The first track they were both satisfied with was “Beat Cut”.They decided to send the track to some major house Djs to get some feedback and support. They immediately got support from Dutch Topjocks like Don Diablo and Erick E and Fedde le Grand charted “Beat Cut” in his top 10 and things started to roll. As “Beat Cut” got signed at Sneakerz Muzik, one can speak of a dream debut!

SLAM!FM is a radio station in the Netherlands, playing pop and dance music. They can be picked up on FM in a large part of the country.
History

The radio station started in the 1990s as New Dance Radio, a cable radio station. Dutch entertainment companyID&T acquired the station in the late nineties, transforming it into Slam FM (named after one of ID&T's dance & lifestyle magazines at the time, Slam). Within a year, the name was changed into ID&T Radio, reflecting ID&T's strategy at the time to bundle all activities under one brand name, i.e. ID&T).

ID&T Radio successfully bid for a nationwide FM frequency in Spring 2003 and changed its format to a more mainstream Top 40 genre, at least in its daytime programming schedule. Afterwards ID&T was accused and partially successfully sued by some competitors to have failed to meet its license requirements (including a playlist maximum of 7.5% current hits and a maximum of 50% hits older than one year).

In February 2005, the name was changed to SLAM!FM again (This time with an exclamation mark in its name and logo, and written in all capitals; no further connections with the heretofore mentioned lifestyle magazine which ID&T had discontinued in the meantime). The music programming became even more commercially and mainstream focussed.
