It’s time for the big beats of summer. Last year it was Major Lazer that gripped everyone with brash, bangin’, dub style and now the Mad Decent camp unleashes the human bass tornado Rusko to do the honors. With soaring vocals by Amber Coffman of Brooklyn’s Dirty Projectors and song penned by Sia, “Hold On” is a bottom heavy, UK garage, tour-de-force, that’s about to transcend the dubstep scene into the mainstream. The melodic rushes and sweet vocals balance out the crushing, bass-rattling beats in the club ready LP version and Sub Focus and 12th Planet take it to the edge. Tom Stephan brings it to the main room with big room build ups and ripping synths. The Uk’s most prominent dubstep producer is gearing up for a big summer with the release of his O.M.G! LP, M.I.A.’s new LP he co-produced, big name collabs (Rihanna, TI, Britney Spears) and a relentless dj schedule around the globe spreading the dub.
