Laurent Garnier flexes his ethno-house muscle with a multi style pile up on ‘Gnanmankoudji’ in two mixes. The first is made for the housier/techno floors with a steady 4/4 pulse anchoring constantly morphing waves of percussion influenced by various regions of the world, with sax, guitar and trumpet accompaniement. The Broken-Afro mix on the flip caters more towards the Gilles Peterson school of ethno-cool with West London style broken beat rhythms kinking themselves into a rumping frenzy.
