Michael Woods - Dynamik ( Original and Moguai Remix )

Next up on Mau5trap is the ever so brilliant Michael Woods, with his new track Dynamik, complete with a remix from rising talent Moguai.Fresh from remixing previous Mau5trap release Oyster, Michael returns with his own work of art, Dynamik, a building progressive anthem with warm synths true to Michael’s signature sound combined with the driving drums and bass to create an outstanding peak time stomper.Moguai adds to the package with his remix, just as Michael did to Moguai’s Oyster. The Mau5trap regular takes the original and makes it his own, with solid bouncy drums and a bass riff that builds and rolls to create a thumping main room hit.Michael never ceases to amaze us with his production skill and there is no change with Dynamik, the atmospheric synths that give us that warm feeling inside to the pumping drums that will keep you dancing throughout, makes this next release a very special one.

Moguai - Oyster [EP]

Fresh from the hugely successful Deadmau5 European tour in April/May, German house favourite Moguai is back once again to offer this latest addition to his rapidly expanding Mau5trap back catalogue. Featuring the highly sought remixing talents of Michael Woods, another lauded supporting act on the tour, and a LYVE edit of Oyster as performed by Moguai himself at the Brixton Academy, It’s fair to say this package exemplifies those feelings felt and heard on tour. With a year so far like Moguai’s, he can surely deserve to feel reminiscent about his runaway success. These remixes of Oyster have plenty to offer; presented in a 12” package that will include both remixes. The digital package meanwhile will include an extra original mix. There is a varied sprinkling of flavor here for all fans of electronic music, a major part of the German warrior’s mass appeal. For those unfamiliar with the track, Oyster is a progressive house stomper, with bomb heavy 4-4 beats and a hooky, synth-soaked melody perforating through the solid structure – it has club bound, crossover smasher coursing through its veins.

Moguai – PunX Up The Volume (SSL) -SAT- 27-05-2010

He has been a leading figure in the electronic music scene for more than a decade, setting new standards in production, as so many music lovers have had the pleasure of witnessing. His DJ sets are no less remarkable, surround sound experiences for countless clubbers. So why are we casting a glance back to the apparently unremarkable place where it all began? Because this is the starting point for Moguai the artist's continuing journey across the globe. Welcome to the kinetic highway.
Put it another way: there are more ways than one from A to B. Sometimes the road leads via X and P... or possibly M.
M for Marl it is then, a fantastic point of departure in the late 80s and early 90s in terms of musical activity and the world at large. Punk and skater hardcore dominated the scene, with techno and electro storms gathering momentum even before the Berlin Wall fell. Here in the Ruhr area, Moguai tapped into the energy streaming through the region and got closer to the music. The road from Marl to Dusseldorf is a short one, the latter having already left its mark on the musical map some years before when Kraftwerk drew up the blueprint for a whole cosmos of electronic sounds.

Carl Cox & Moguai – Global Session 373 07/05/2010

A musical ambassador since he was in short trousers, a professional DJ since his early teens, a veteran of acid house and a champion of techno, Carl Cox emits a love of his work that is dangerously infectious. Check him when he's behind the turntables and you can't mistake his ecstatic visage, dripping with sweat as his head bobs up and down to the beat, his hands pumping the air whenever they're not manipulating the turntables, his body swaying back and forth, frequently taking to the mike to share word on the latest underground tune he's about to break. You name it, Carl's been there and done it, but he's never lost sight of the point of it: playing music, breaking tunes, spreading love, celebrating life.
