Interview with Dave Kurtis :
At night 20-21 March 2010 the majority of clubbers from Czech Republic and near abroad will get a new dose of impressions – this night the regular Dance Celebration - party will take place in Brno. Now on many forums there are already burning discussions about its organisation and headliners’ performances.
Here is the text version of the interview with DJ’s.
One wouldn’t remain indifferent at sight of this cheerful and self-confident guy. And after 20 seconds of talking to him it becomes obvious that “one of the lads” refers exactly to Dave Kurtis.
- Which most unusual place did you happen to play at?
- 2006 i had the honor to play at the "Blue Parade" on a big boat that drove from Düsseldorf to Cologne and back. That has been a great and crazy day, captured together with Westbam, Turntablerockers, Tapesh and other DJs on one ship.
- Can you name the approximate sum of money which you had spent on dj’ing before it started bringing income?
- Oh.. a lot. Even for vinyls, you remember these big black discs...? ;) I spend a lot of money for music in one week. Then also of course for vinyl-players, three or four dj-mixer and an external cd-burner to record all of these numerous demo-cds to apply for jobs in clubs. thinking back i really can't remember how i financed this all.
- Do you know the date of DJs’ professional holiday?
- I guess this could be March 23th at the Miami Winter Conference. I can not sadly be there this year, but we will soon release an "Miami Soundquake 2010"-Sampler on my fresh founded label "A-TRAX Recordings". Great tech-house tunes by Satisfaction, Cristiano Casiraghi, myself and many more.
- Which track will you surely play in Brno?
- I will surely play "1234" by Tube & Berger and Ante Perry. i think this is a great disco-tune and will soon rock every club. Of course i will also drop my new single called "Wunderkind", that has been just released, and other fresh Dave Kurtis-Remixes & A-TRAX/Attractive Music-Productions. I'm really looking forward to this big event.
